Benzodiazapine (Quantitative)

Benzodiazepine (BZD) is known as a drug of abuse that is mixed with drinks illegally for sexual assault and abuse. Usage of BZD would be the addiction. This test evaluates BZD concentration in the urine to find the overdose of BZD. It is a general urine toxicology test to examine the consumption of abused drugs in the body.

Why Benzodiazepine test?

CLINICAL INFORMATION :

The benzodiazepine medication is prescribed that depresses the CNS, usually given to sedate the patients to help sleep in patients with insomnia, prevent seizures, ease anxiety, and for muscle spasms. This drug is not for sale as a counter-drug since it causes adverse side effects such as tolerance in long-term users and creates dependence causing craving. Benzodiazepine test is performed in urine specimens as a part of toxicology studies in cases with accidental poisoning and/or cases of drug abuse and/or in suspicious cases of attempting suicide.
