ANCA- Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies are AUTOANTIBODIEScreated by the abnormal Immune System. Sometimes due to abnormalities of the immune system, antibodies are produced against self-antigens so mistakenly antibodies recognize self-antigens of our body such as neutrophils Protein (A kind of white blood cell). Myeloperoxidase (MPO) (pANCA) and Proteinase (PR3) (cANCA) are the main Proteins affected by the autoantibodies. PR3 (CNA) test evaluates the PR3 levels in the blood to check the inflammation and infection for diagnosing autoimmune diseases such as Wegener’s Granulomatosis (WG) and Microscopic Polyangitis(MPA).

Why ANCA –PR3 - cANCA test?


ANCA – PR3 – cANCAis a blood test that helps to diagnose the detection of autoantibodies in systemic vasculitis. Proteinase-3 (PR3) antigen is a serine protease that exists as a protein triplet in human neutrophils. Wenger granulomatosis (WG), is an autoimmune vasculitis that affects the kidneys, lungs as well as other organs. These patients with WG develop autoantibodies against PR3 antigen of myeloid lysosomes (i.e. PR3 anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies).
