ANA (IF Method)

ANA (Antinuclear Antibodies) is a collection of Autoantibodies generated by the abnormal Immune System. Generally, Antibodies affect the harmful virus and bacteria that entered the body. Due to errors in recognition of self-antigens by HLA, Sometimes Antibodies are triggered against self-antigens of the body, hence affect the healthy cells mistakenly and cause autoimmune disorders. ANA – IFA (Indirect Fluorescent Antibody) is a primary test to examine antibodies to diagnose autoimmune diseases that affect tissues and organs of the body.

CLINICAL INFORMATION :

An anti-nuclear antibody test is a primary test to help evaluate a person for auto-immune disorders that may affect many tissues and organs throughout the body (systemic). It is one of the tests to help diagnose systemic lupus erythematosis (SLE) and auto-immune connective tissue disorders and other related disorders such as polymyositis, scleroderma, sjogren’s syndromes, etc. Here the autoantibodies are directed against the nucleus of their own cells. This immune fluoresce antibody (IFA) measures the amount and pattern of antinuclear antibodies in the blood.
